SAAS - Software as a Service

What is the SaaS (Software as a Service)?

It is a service of providing users with the necessary software functions via Internet by a provider or authorized partner. Clients have access to functional tools they need, not necessarily unified by seamless interface.

All programs are operating from the provider’s Server. Clients pay for each use of the service and get an on-demand access to it. The SaaS applications are also called net software, on-demand software or host software. SaaS is the fastest growing technology branch. Because most of clients’ attention focuses on low entering costs, and for the provider on incomes for subscription fees, SaaS is getting more and more popular. SaaS operates on IaaS. and PaaS.

What does SaaS include?

SaaS includes specific functional applications like CRM, accounting applications, human resources managing applications, etc. licensed and provided on-line on demand or in the cloud computing environment.

2. Easy to use. The SaaS applications are available from every computer or any other net connected device. The ease of usage stem from the fact that the only condition to be able to use the service is the ability to use the internet.

3. No upgrades. As it is the provider who does the upgrades and updates, users do not have to worry about installing current versions of applications. It is also the provider who manages the availability so clients do not have to concern about neither additional hardware nor software or any other issues when they need to add in-house users.

4. Easy integration. A provider who have an extended infrastructure can constantly scale to fulfill client’s demands. Many providers can tailor the service to the individual needs of users, and deliver interface for SaaS to perform with business productivity programs within company, for example the CMS.
